Superman: Released July 11, 2025

Superman is an upcoming American superhero film based on the eponymous character from DC Comics. Produced by DC Studios and to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it will be the first film in the DC Universe (DCU) and a reboot of the Superman film series. The film is written and directed by James Gunn and stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Alan Tudyk, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell. The film explores Superman’s journey to reconcile his alien heritage with his human family.

Peacemaker: Season 2 released in August 2025

The second season of the American superhero television series Peacemaker is based on the eponymous character from DC Comics. It is set in the DC Universe (DCU) and serves as a “soft reboot” of the series, which started as a spin-off from the 2021 DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film The Suicide Squad. The season continues the story of jingoistic mercenary Christopher Smith / Peacemaker. It is produced by DC Studios with James Gunn as showrunner

The Sandman: Season 2 released in 2025

“The Sandman series has always been focused exclusively on Dream’s story, and back in 2022, when we looked at the remaining Dream material from the comics, we knew we only had enough story for one more season,” showrunner Allan Heinberg told Netflix. “We are extremely grateful to Netflix for bringing the team all back together and giving us the time and resources to make a faithful adaptation in a way that we hope will surprise and delight the comics’ loyal readers as well as fans of our show.”

Lanterns: An HBO series with a darker tone

Lanterns is an upcoming American television series based on DC Comics featuring the Green Lantern characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Television, it will be the third television series in the DC Universe (DCU). It features Jordan and Stewart investigating a mystery on Earth. Chris Mundy serves as showrunner.

Starfire: A series based on the popular Teen Titans character

Starfire is a superheroine created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez appearing in American comic books created by DC Comics. She debuted in a preview story inserted within DC Comics Presents #26 (October, 1980). Since the character’s introduction, Starfire has been a major recurring character in Teen Titans and various other iterations of the team, sometimes depicted as the team’s leader, and a significant love interest for Dick Grayson.

While there isn’t a standalone “Starfire” series based on the Teen Titans character, the character of Starfire is a prominent member of the Teen Titans and has appeared in various animated series, including “Teen Titans” and “Teen Titans Go!”.
